There are two voices within each of us.
There’s the voice of the ego, and the voice of our Beingness, our Divine Essence, our inner Stillness.
The voice of the ego is the loudest by far, and so we tend to listen to it by default.
It’s the voice that’s telling you what’s going wrong in life. It’s the voice telling you why you should be afraid.
It tells you why what you want isn’t possible, and how much work you have to put in to even have a chance of getting what you want.
It tells you to constantly search for that next technique, that next book or course that will give you all the answers.
It tells you that where you are is certainly not OK: you should want more, and yet at the same time, not expect too much, because the world isn’t fair.
It’s a collection of contradictions, but yet it’s what we listen to most of the time.
That inner voice of Stillness, though: that is always telling you that everything is working out.
It tells you that where you are is OK, and you could never go wrong.
It tells you that you are on track to getting everything you want, and that what you want is OK.
It tells you that you are loved, and there is never anything to fear.
It constantly points the way to all that you desire: it is your inner homing beacon that when followed, will lead you to greater and greater peace, contentment, and joy.
Which of these voices would you rather listen to?
It’s tiring to listen to the ego’s constant prodding and cajoling.
And if you’ve been listening to it for a while, you know it never leads anywhere good.
It just leads to more emptiness — more searching, more lack, more things to worry about.
Would you like to shut off that voice for a while and allow the inner voice of Stillness to become predominant?
The key to unlocking that voice of Stillness is non-doing.
The ego pushes you to do, do, do — work, work, work — try, try, try.
The voice of Stillness encourages you to be still and allow the perfection of the Universe to work everything out for you.
