I’ve emphasized for years the importance of daily practice. At first it was to practice LOA techniques in order to achieve your goals. And that is still certainly valid.
But now in the context of black magick, I mean any sort of practice that will plug you in to the magickal realm.
It’s all too easy to get sucked up into mundane reality. In my own life, I’m balancing a full-time job as a web developer, my hobby of learning French, plus my study of the occult and running of Dark Ascent.
It’s a lot to fit into 24 hours a day! And I’m not good at balancing things at the best of times.
Even if I’m just working on Dark Ascent, that doesn’t mean I’m actually plugging in, either. I could be working on Dark Ascent and actually be quite disconnected.
So I’ve made it a personal goal to take a few minutes every day and connect with the magickal. That could mean taking a few minutes to meditate, performing an evocation or ritual, or even immersing myself in the presence of whatever demon I’m working with. In fact sometimes doing that, without even any words, can communicate more to me than anything else.
No matter what daily practice you might choose, it’s important to do something. The more you connect with the magickal, the more potent and available your powers will be. But if you simply allow yourself to get sucked into everyday life—i.e., the objective universe—then your magickal power will be harder to access.
We walk a fine line between the magickal and the physical, but it’s important to keep this line well.
If you’d like a bit more of the magickal in your life, I am starting a monthly print newsletter, the Circle of Darkness. I’m still seeing who may be interested in this, and those who express interest early will receive an early bird discount!
So if interested, just send me a message and let me know! I’m also happy to answer your questions about it.
