I notice this dangerous pattern certain people getting into, and getting them back out of it is sometimes like pulling teeth.
That pattern is: going to search for deep subconscious beliefs that they believe are holding them from their desire.
I took this approach once, but found quickly that it actually did more harm than good. You can learn more about this in my latest podcast, Create036: Should You Dig Up Your Subconscious Resistance?
The assumption is that it is our subconscious beliefs that create for us, especially those that we are unaware of. And so we have to dig those up and release them, so that we can start getting different results.
And the thing is, this is completely inaccurate. It’s not your subconscious beliefs that create, it is your reactive thoughts that create.
Reactive thoughts are those thoughts to which you have a strong emotional reaction. There is no manifestation without emotion, and so when a thought triggers an emotional reaction, it is creating.
That means you literally cannot create unless there are emotionally-reactive thoughts moving through your mind—quite the opposite of deep, dark, hidden subconscious beliefs.
But why do I say that this pattern is dangerous?
For three reasons:
Firstly, it seems to be rather addictive. People start searching for these deep subconscious beliefs, which leads them to finding another belief, and another belief, and another belief, ad infinitum.
It never ends. Why? Simply because the law of attraction is bringing them more “beliefs” that match their search.
It’s kind of like you typed into Google, “Reasons why money is hard to earn,” and Google said, “OK, here are 22,100,000 results” (yes I just did that search now to see how many results there would be).
And then you start browsing through the websites, and they link to other websites, which link to other websites, which link to other websites.
In other words, the more you search, the more results the law of attraction will bring you. In this example, imagine those 22 million results turned into 50 million, the more you searched. More results were literally being created as you searched more and more.
That’s how the law of attraction works. You can never get to the bottom of a problem or belief, because there is no bottom. The LOA will only bring you more and more and more things to find.
And that brings me to the second reason this is dangerous: as you focus on those “subconscious beliefs”, you tune your vibration to those beliefs, and so your life starts to reflect that more and more back to you.
In other words, the more you dig into your belief about the lack of money, the more you tune your vibration to “lack of money”, and so the more you get “lack of money”.
And if you persist in this practice, then the more life reflects this back to you, the more you are motivated to dig for more subconscious beliefs. And so the cycle continues.
There’s a third and final reason why this practice is dangerous, and that is because it is enticing to the ego. The ego wants to feel like it is doing something, anything, to manifest your desires, and digging for subconscious beliefs makes it feel like enough effort, that it seems like something is actually happening—that all this digging is accomplishing something.
The thing is, invariably every time one of my clients gets stuck in this cycle, they come back to me months later still in the exact same place, if not worse off than before. They can’t fathom why this isn’t working, and they think they only have a bit further to dig, and then it’ll all pay off.
And of course, it never does pay off, because that kind of effort leads nowhere.
This type of effort is insidious because it seems like really positive inner work, but it really drags you into a negative cycle of pushing more and more against where you are.
The only way out of this cycle is to just stop searching for those beliefs, and focus now on feeling better. Focus on allowing, on accepting, and on the feeling of what you want to create.
This whole thing is counterintuitive, but I promise that it pays off in the end. You’ll start to see things shift towards the positive, and then you’ll be building momentum towards what you want to create.
If you’d like help with this entire process, and knowing how to achieve any desire you want, then I invite you to request a free consultation with me to see how I can help. I’ve been helping clients to manifest their greatest desires for almost 3 years now, and I’m confident that I can help you, too.
