This past week has really taught me the importance of gratitude.
Gratitude is one of those things I just don’t focus on very much in my writings here. I’ve never really had to use it to any great extent in the past.
But as my manifestations get bigger, I realize that you can either see the negatives in life, or the positives.
If you see the negatives, you’re going to get swallowed by them.
But if you see the positives, then you’ll be lifted easily to the next level.
So today, I’m making this post about all the positives going on in my life, because that’s what I choose to focus on.
1. Working Towards a Hypnotherapy Certification
So about two years ago, I had enrolled for a time in a certification program to be certified as a hypnotherapist. I was already certified in NLP, but I thought that perhaps hypnotherapy could add to my skillset.
Well I was just starting my journey, and wasn’t quite sure what kind of work I’d be doing, or how that would look. So, I withdrew from that program.
But recently, my intuition has really been leading me to re-enroll in the hypnotherapy program. It’s quite a serious commitment, taking about 10 months or so to complete, but I began to feel like it would be a great option for me to add to my coaching.
More and more, I’ve been doing a lot of childhood work with my clients: digging into old beliefs and helping to remove those beliefs. I’ve had a ton of success with that, but I think hypnotherapy could definitely add a useful element.
So, I re-enrolled at the program at the Hypnosis Motivation Institute (HMI), who has a distance learning option, which works perfectly for me. 🙂
It kind of feels like going full circle, because I studied there two years ago when I was just starting Co-Creation Coaching, so it feels a bit surreal.
2. Last Week of Work
As I mentioned last week, I am quitting my part-time job on October 31. This week, things have really been settling in. I’ve been slowly handing over my responsibilities, which has felt amazing.
Most of all, I’m psyched for November 1 and onward, when I can really commit 100% to Co-Creation Coaching.
And not only that, but also have the time to pursue my own hobbies. For the last several months, all my time has been either work, or Co-Creation Coaching. Heck, I have a novel I’ve been trying to finish reading for a couple weeks, just because I can’t find time to sit down and read it. …Okay, listen to it. It’s on audio. 🙂
Plus, I have many different ideas for my business that I’ll have time to fully implement once I am doing this full time.
As I said before, is there a bit of nervousness? Of course. I’d not be human if that weren’t the case. But I also know that everything will work out.
And your support has been awesome throughout the process as well. I’ve been receiving so many supportive messages since revealing my transition last week, and I greatly appreciate that.
3. (Re)Learning French
Not exactly LOA related, though in a way it is.
I’ve been focusing lately on my true vision in life. And part of that vision was traveling around the world, teaching these principles.
I’ve always dreamt of traveling. The freedom that could bring is very appealing to me.
And part of that is that it’d be awesome to communicate with others in their own language. About two years ago, I spent about 3 months intensely learning French. When I started getting really good at it, I started a Facebook page for Co-Creation Coaching, but in French.
The response I got on that page was nothing short of astounding. I got probably 200 likes on that page almost literally overnight.
I met some awesome friends through my learning of French as well, that I would have never gotten the chance to meet otherwise. Several of them didn’t even know English at all, or spoke it very poorly.
I used to have the idea of starting a French version of this site where the articles would all be in French.
Why French? I have no idea. Perhaps I had a past life in France. I’ve just always been attracted to that language and country.
Anyway, whatever form that takes, I think it’d be super fun. And as such, I’ve been improving my French skills, since I let them lapse for a while. And that’s been really enjoyable as well.
I’d love to learn some other languages in the future: at the top of my list are German and Spanish. We’ll just see where that leads.
But hey, follow your bliss, right? 🙂
4. New LOA Techniques
I’m always exploring more ways of improving at the law of attraction.
Back when I was studying at HMI, and brand new at the law of attraction, I was fascinated by a technique they have called the Mental Bank.
It’s basically a way of writing down your affirmations and goals at night, in a way that will have the greatest chance of entering your subconscious mind and creating real change.
I didn’t use it long enough last time to really know if it worked or not, but there are thousands of stories out there about its efficacy. HMI developed the Mental Bank before the law of attraction even became a common term, which is why I find it so interesting.
So I decided to test it out once again for myself. I have some specific goals that I’m working on using this technique, and I’m curiously observing the results. I just started about 4 or 5 days ago, so not enough time for anything major yet, though I definitely notice more momentum in that area.
It’s especially good for financial goals, but I’ve heard of people finding their ideal partner, losing weight, and other types of goals using the Mental Bank.
So, we’ll see. As always, I’m all about studying the law of attraction in depth to see how it works under the surface. So I’m interested in seeing whether this works, and if it does, how and why.
Though I already have some of the answers in that regard, just from what I already know. But there are certainly some aspects that intrigue me.
If you’d like to see the video about this technique, check this out:
As a note, though they strongly recommend handwriting as the best way of embedding suggestions in your subconscious mind, obviously that’s not possible for me. So I’m typing it, currently in a spreadsheet. But I’m also working on a custom web application to make it even easier. If there’s interest, I may release it to the public, but it’d be a while before it was ready for that. But hey, if there are some who would like to beta test the program, just let me know and I’ll be happy to tell you when it’s ready for testing. 🙂
5. Weight Progress
And of course, I’m still losing weight.
Last week, things slowed down a little bit, but there was still significant weight loss.
And Christine is seriously doing awesome, and people are really noticing that she’s lost weight already.
I’m officially to the 15 lb mark, which is exciting. And so is Christine. 🙂
So I’ll post my progress here while I’m at it:
- Start weight: 332.0 lb (150.6 kg)
- Week 6 average: 317.3 lb (143.9 kg)
- Week 7 average: 316.4 lb (143.5 kg)
- Lost this week: 0.9 lb (0.4 kg) (0.28%)
- Lost in total: 15.6 lb (7.1 kg) (4.70%)
- Start weight: 251.8 lb (114.2 kg)
- Week 6 average: 237.2 lb (107.6 kg)
- Week 7 average: 236.3 lb (107.2 kg)
- Lost this week: 0.9 lb (0.4 kg) (0.38%)
- Lost in total: 15.5 lb (7.0 kg) (6.16%)
I know today was a bit random, but I really just want to bring attention to all the awesome things going on, because, well, that’s the best thing to do when so many things are changing. It reminds me what is really important, and not to get caught up in the negative.
Hopefully it’s a reminder to you, too, to find the things that you’re grateful for in your life. Feel free to let me know at least one thing you’re grateful for below in the comments.
